Shanghai F1 Circuit

The Shanghai International Circuit is located in Jiading District, Shanghai, People's Republic of China. Construction, overseen by then-Shanghai Mayor Chen Liangyu, involv,ed an investment of approximately 2 billion yuan. Construction began in October 2002 and was completed in June 2004. The total area is 5.3 square kilometers, with a seating capacity of 200,000. The inaugural Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix was held there on September 26, 2004.
